RSS feeds: both short and long articles?

Is there a reason the RSS feeds contain both the shortened and full version of the articles? I'd rather have only one or the other (preferably the full, of course) so I don't have to see everything twice.

which app are you talking about I've checked out a few and none of them have listed stories in both forms.

I'm using Google Reader, pointed to

I get both versions of each article, usually a few hours apart.

oh your talking about feeds from this site not all feeds in a certain reader. I misunderstood your question i have no idea why its like that. im not subscribed to this sites feed I'm just here all the time.
