So...after searching and searching (mainly on ebay) I found my car mount, i kinda took a leap of faith because you are never really sure what a product is like until you finally have it in your hands. I payed $12.98 for it, it was actually one of the cheaper priced ones and I can say i am pretty satisfied with it...here are some pics...

It took me about 5 mins to understand how the thing works and I was surprised at how strong the suction cup was. A lot of the other car mounts had a long extending neck, I thought that I would have problems with this one since the neck was short, I didn't, its actually perfect. So here are the pros and cons.

Pros:
-Its solid like a rock, my phone has not slipped out once (have had it for at least a month now) and it stays put.
-Its right in my reach, I don't have to stretch out to push any buttons or anything (well, where i have it anyways, you can do whatever you would like)
-Its easy customization, you can virtually turn it any way, point it in any angle, expand the side holder things, turn it sideways and it locks up tight so there is no loose slipping or anything.
-You can also detach the holder that the phone is in, as you can see from the pics, so you don't have to take down the whole thing, just the holder and its easy to put right back on.
-Its very padded so your phone wont get scratched or anything, its safe and as you can see from the pics, i have my case on my phone as well, it was no problem at all, it held it in there tight and snug.

Cons:
-The holder is a little "too easy" to detach, i found myself bumping it off a couple times...not like it was a problem but a little annoying.
-Can't really think of anything else...

Well, if your like me and you use your gps, maps, and directions. You should look into buying a car mount. Its really great, easy to use when driving and using Google maps, you can even fire off quick messages using the virtual keyboard on chomp sms,ONLY WHEN YOU ARE PARKED OR AT A STOP LIGHT, IM NOT PROMOTING TEXTING AND DRIVING ;)

Also, concerning battery life, yes the battery will drain a little faster when using your gps or whatever, but thats why you have a car charger right? I don't have one yet, and i have used my gps a lot while driving and i haven't had any complaints. So if you do have a car charger, don't worry, you can plug that sucker right in :)

I have also used it to make phone calls using the voice dialer and speaker phone, not too bad. haha

Hope you guys found this review helpful!!

Yeah, suction cups are illegal on the windshield in California....

I have been looking around for something more discreet and permenant. Pro clips is prob my best solution. But I dont have the scratch to spend on it right now

Mine mounts to my air vent. Which kills an air vent for me, which might be problematic come summertime. But it's probably the same brand, looks virtually the same, just with little clips and springs to mount inside the air vent's shades.

A plus is that the car charger is right below it, so I can plug it in and use the GPS or attach it to three adapters and plug in the charge + headphone adapter + headphone-to-cassette-tape adapter to listen to music through the car's speakers. Handy.

Wow, what a great review - concise and informative with great pictures from every possible angle.... If only I could do ANYthing with my left hand, I would definitely consider it after that review! Thanks!

Thanks but I think you went overboard with the pictures.

Yes and no. There's a recent change in the law beginning of this year. You can have a suction cup GPS device in your car but it have to be 5" x 5" square on the left bottom side of your windshield or 7" x 7" on the bottom of the passenger side.

I got a similar one at Sam's Club but it hooks into the air vent. I dont like the air vent thing but otherwise it works fine...I prefer yours though.

I didn't like this review...I mean yeah it was pretty informative, and I commend you for that, but the neither name of the product nor where you found it were mentioned. These features are what I'm looking for but again, I don't know the brand or where I can find one...

You guys that got one for the air vent, where did you find that? That would be more of what I'm looking for.
