I was hoping to blog this lunch hour, but for the first 40 minutes struggled to do anything at all. Poor connection. Is this common on 3G? I am in London (on London Wall). Yesterday it was good and I wrote my blogs, today lots of hanging, time out, site not found errors. Very frustrating.
It is 3G, my location or my phone that is the problem?

I believe it's the 3G signal that is weak sometimes. Where I am it is 3G full bar area and today it's like 2 and sometimes 1 bar of signal then it switches to edge and back to 3G.

I am showing my Noobness here - but what is EDGE? Is it what came before 3G?
I heard that 4G was being tested. Will that replace 3G, or will we have to pay more fror it?

Yeah EDGE was before 3G. Think of it like this EDGE is like dial up (you plug you computer into a phone jack) and 3G is like broadband (hi speed internet)

So if I just see a G and a few bars, I am on EDGE (not like jittery, just slow....)

if you just see a g that means you are on gprs . edge is e . gprs is much slower that edge !!! its usually not even worth going online on gprs because it is so slow . edge is actually pretty quick , but 3g is much quicker !!
