I talked to one of the Tmo branch and the shop owner said he could sell a black G1 for $250, with only 1 year contract. Is this a good price? (I don't like 2 year contract.)
I mean, I have no idea how the standard G1 should be sold within US with 1 year or no contract. Could someone feed me in with the standard price in US market?

New customers under a 2 yr contract payed $179 plus tax
If you're an existing customer with payment issues, "upgraded" the phone was $299.00 plus tax
On Ebay or Craigslist people are selling them for $250 and up
Go for it!

Why not just get one off craigslist? If you are lucky, you can find one under $250 lol

i sweet talked the tmobile rep, said i love tmobile, but if i couldnt upgrade early i would prob leave and get an iphone. This was in January, I got the phone at the normal upgrade price, and I don't have to pay for it until March. Basically been using my G1 for free for the last month.

Thanks.
I'm a new customer.
So basically you guys think this is a good price?
I'm not too sure about craigslist or ebay because I do want a new phone and I don't feel comfortable buying from there.

I heard that Walmart sells the G1 for $179 with a one-year contract. It was posted after the G1 was released in October.

I thought G1 from Walmart was only for a two-year contract deal...

It's a used one. I do want a new one.
And as long as I have the phone, I'll probably have to have a data plan anyway. So 1 year contract is not an issue.
I'm in NYC, so signal should be good enough from TMobile.

No. That is too much for a g1. If you really look you could find one for a plan deal for 180-200 max

That's for a 1 year contract or two?
I'm a little confused here.

That's for neither. That's for no contract if you look around. People that post on this site have sold phones for around $200 - nearly new.

Yes, except those are used ones.
From what I understand, a new one without any contract costs like at least $350+.
A new one with two years contract costs around $150-170 directly from Tmobile.
So I'm asking if a new one with one year contract worth $250.
I don't want a used one just because I had bad experience buying used phones...:(

If you want the NEW phone, I suggest you go ahead and purchase the phone.
$250 is fare enough I think, plus you already have your mind made up.
