Since yesterday I can't view any Youtube video on AC thats posted in the threads. From my "HOME COMPUTER".

It all started when I was making a new thread and wanted to include a video that I found on another website. It was a flash video, but not from You tube. So I used a website that captures flash videos and downloads them to your computer in .flv format. I then used a video converter to convert the .flv file to .avi and uploaded it to Youtube so I could post it here.

After all that, Youtube said I couldn't embed the video outside of Youtube because of some kinda copyright thing or something to that effect. So I said what the hell and decided to uninstall the video converters (actually I installed 2 different ones) from my computer. It was then I noticed that I could no longer view the Youtube videos that had already been posted to AC.

I can view the videos fine on Youtubes website, But all I see on AC is the URL link. I've uninstalled Java, Adobe Flash, and Shockwave. Then reinstalled them all. Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't know if uninstalling the converters changed something, is it a problem with Youtube or AC's website. I'm lost.

I'm posting a Youtube video below, let me know if you can play it. If someone can post one also so I can see if its just on my end. Thanks.

Video wasn't embedded...

Try re-installing java and flash... maybe even your browser - sometimes your OS will let you whack off DLLs and the like, that are still in use cause well.. Your OS sucks as much as everyone else's, lol...

PS. Voted for your titles. Only ones that really hold any weight or should be considered IMHO. others are too long, or just not widely acceptable terminology..

Thanks for the vote.

Thats Windows for ya. Would you suggest uninstalling in safe mode.

When you say "Video wasn't embedded" do you mean I didn't use the embedded code. On Youtube, just to the right of the video are two lines you can copy. The first is the URL, which I used. The second is the embed code. I've always used the URL before and they worked fine.

I'm going to post the embed code below. Let me know if this is better.

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/e8TUwHTfOOU&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/e8TUwHTfOOU&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

If you uninstall in Safemood, won't make an difference, what happens when you go to the youtube page and try to play a video? DOes it load up at all? Does it say any other message? Try another browser if you can.

I use both Firefox and IE7. I can see and play the videos on Youtubes website with both browsers just fine. I just can't post a new video or even play a previously posted video on AC. For example about 2 or 3 days ago I posted a video in the thread where we were voting for the new user names. I posted it no problem and it played just fine, now since yesterday all i can see is a link.

If its possible could you pick a random video off youtube and post it here so I can see if it works. Thanks.
