1 Click Direction

1 Click Directions is an perfect app for those who don't need an GPS application on their phones but if they had without any monthly fees, this would be it.

What 1 Click Directions does is, it actually uses Google Maps to find directions and then gives you turn by turn directions. With the Text to Speech installed, it actually "talks" to you like some --- GPS devices.

POIs are one of the main selling points GPS devices. The more the better. 1 Click Directions supports POIs and uses Yellowbook Pages to find whatever is being searched. For users living outside the US, they are suggested to use Google Maps as YellowBooks is still only supported in the US. When POI search feature is accessed, it will either open up Yellowbooks the application which you have to download from the Android Market for Google’s Homepage where you can enter in what you’re looking for and then go on from there.

Directions are easy to understand and the application also shows you the directions in print. One downside with the application would be that it does not auto refresh, meaning after every turn, you would have to tap on refresh in order to get the new directions. It does refresh by itself at an minimum rate of 30seconds.

In the settings screen of the application, here we have controls for Full Screen mode, Traffic Options, Route Type, Metric Units, Screen Brightness, Direction Languages and settings for Text to Speech.

Over all, this is a great application to have on the phone, just for those unexpected days. Works as expected.
The Application catches and locks on the GPS signal fast, but signal quality also varies from trees and tall buildings.

Pros:

POI Search
Text To Speech Support
Easy to use

Cons:
·Launch’s Google via Web Browser for Directions (POI Search)

I have it and the only thing that drives me batty is the speech from the robotic voice. I'm not complaining since its $300 less than my regular dashboard mounted GPS. ;)

Also I noticed I used it to drive across town which required the freeway and it did not tell me to exit on the freeway. I knew I needed to, but the voice didn't say exit ahead or something like that and I would of missed it.

On the distance on the main screen it shows you your total distance and time, but I wish it would tell you the distance/time to your next turn so you know ahead of time.

Overall its pretty cool and I'm sure I'll use it now and then when I'm not with the wife who refuses to let me have my Dash mounted GPS that well I paid for. hahahahaha
