Hey, doesn't some of the staff here have contacts with tmo? It's been since October since we have seen anything official with regards to 3G rollout schedules. It would be way cool to see Virginia Beach on the schedule now. So, can we get an update? Any tmo moles among us that want to clue us in?

I submitted a post but it doesn't look like it's been approved yet. This came out today:

Sheesh, some of those cities I've never even heard of (not really, but close), and Virginia Beach isn't even on the list. *sigh* :(
Thanks for the quick answers though :)

3G just drains your Battery... I rarely use it (Edge works just fine for me)

I know this is doesnt matter to the rest of the world, but I can confirm the buiding of 3G transmit sites in Salt Lake to coralate the 3g, Q3, rollout.. Due to some city disputes they had to switch the site to an outskirt town in order to avoid problems and that is supposed to be completed in june with first towers in july....That goes along with the rumored list

It will be a long time for 3G to get here in Virginia Beach, before it hits Virginia Beach it will be in Norfolk VA first and some Elite places like downtown Norfolk and Oceanfront, and Towns Center. If they do offer it expect the rates to go up, cause its not cheap to provide such service. T mobile will offer 3G for the good standing and Edge to the people who are low income types due to the poor economy. Edge is here to stay. Some companies are offering another format called 4G which is probably much faster than 3G. I think 3G will be seperate from Edge service, so that means you will pay more for 3G than the Edge service which will be offered in 2 different packages and 3G means that you need a different phone for 3 G service such as the blackberry, G1, etc. By next year most new smartphones will have the circuitry for Wireless N networks. If you have Wireless N better have also a Wireless G router just for your cheap devices and G1 which means a Dual Band Router is required. Edge will still remain constant online cause of the older phones that use Tzones.
