Need to Borrow Sim Card

I need to activate my friends G1 but i dont have a data plan, is there anyone in the Los Angeles area (closer to santa clarita) that would be kind enough to let me use their sim card for 30 seconds?

is your friend rooted? if so, with the haykuro builds,you can bypass the google login, and connect via wifi. or maybe you have no clue what i'm talking about??? lol :confused:

theres another thread on here that mentions a guy accesing the setting through adb so he could switch on wifi

You don't need to be rooted to adb into the phone and manually start the Settings intent, which will bring up the configuration panel that allows you to set up WiFi.

I understand, i just thought it would be much easier if i found someone that lived around me and i could do it in 30 seconds.

Looking to borrow a SIM card again, got a new g1....again.

Why not try craigslist? Doesn't need to be a G1 owner... just someone with a data plan. Then at least you can find someone in your area instead of searching a forum with people from all over the planet.
