First I like the design. I have bad experience with Samsung. My phone messed up and it took me months to get it fixed,.. Long story. I like the led flash and the 3mm input but don't like that it doesn't have a trackball. Great phone overall

I'm very interested in whether or not someone is going to step up to the i7500 the way Haykuro, JF and the Dude are with the G1. Right now, the Dream is the only game around, with the Magic slowly trickling its way throughout the world, once a flood of Android devices comes out and the base gets fragmented, there may be a shortage of people on each device with the knowledge to mod the firmware.

Someone will, with each new phone it just brings more people into Android. This increases it's interest to people who like to tinker with these things. We started out with JF roms, now we can use Haykuro and the Dudes , as the companies push out more Android devices it will just increase interest.
Android may not be as open source as some people want it to be but it's most certainly more open then windows, rim, or iphones and there's no shortage of modders on those platforms.
edit* To stay on topic, that phone is sexy I just wish it had a physical keyboard. Looks like I'll be keeping my G1 til at least the end of this year
