I went into my local T-mobile store to take a look at a case for my G1. While browsing I found a package of screen protectors and decided to buy them. They come 2 in a package for $9.99. The front of the package says "Cut specifically to fit G1 screen". They have T-Mobile branding on them. I got a chuckle out of the text on the bottom of the package which read; "phone sold separately".
Here is the bullet point features on the rear of the package:
Clear protection film
Quick and easy to apply
Protects your screen from dirt and scratches
Leaves no residue
The protectors are a perfect fit for the G1 screen. They are super easy to apply and I have repositioned one several times and there is no residue. They rely on a static cling application similar to many iPhone protectors that I have used such as the Power Support if you are familiar with them.
The protectors are completely clear so they do not reduce the screen brightness or quality at all. This also means that they fingerprint very easily. I have only had the protector on my phone for 2 days so I cannot make any claims about durability.
I would rate these protectors 9 out of 10 assuming that they are durable and last a reasonable amount of time. If they reduced fingerprinting I would rate them a 10, but then again this would probably affect screen clarity.
