I went into my local T-mobile store to take a look at a case for my G1. While browsing I found a package of screen protectors and decided to buy them. They come 2 in a package for $9.99. The front of the package says "Cut specifically to fit G1 screen". They have T-Mobile branding on them. I got a chuckle out of the text on the bottom of the package which read; "phone sold separately".

Here is the bullet point features on the rear of the package:

Clear protection film
Quick and easy to apply
Protects your screen from dirt and scratches
Leaves no residue

The protectors are a perfect fit for the G1 screen. They are super easy to apply and I have repositioned one several times and there is no residue. They rely on a static cling application similar to many iPhone protectors that I have used such as the Power Support if you are familiar with them.

The protectors are completely clear so they do not reduce the screen brightness or quality at all. This also means that they fingerprint very easily. I have only had the protector on my phone for 2 days so I cannot make any claims about durability.

I would rate these protectors 9 out of 10 assuming that they are durable and last a reasonable amount of time. If they reduced fingerprinting I would rate them a 10, but then again this would probably affect screen clarity.

They are very good, ill give them that. But my one managed to get some fluff underneath it whilst it ws in my pocket and now there is a crease and noticeable dirt mark which will not stick down and protrudes as the crease is hard to bend back into shape. Mine come stock with the phone but is a perfect fit and easily wipeable.

The one that comes stock on the phone is not the same. That is more of a factory protective layer. These are purchased separately in a T-Mobile store.

I also got a screen protector from the t-mobile store, but not that kind. This is a bit thicker, and desensitize the screen a little, but other than that, it's been perfect.

I scooped up a couple of these. I like them. Easy to apply and very thin. They do fingerprint like a MF but it's all good.

Agreed the fingerprinting is no improvement over the stock screen at all. But the protective layer it offers is a major benefit. They are some of the best fitting screen protectors I have ever used on any phone and they stick to the screen very well.
