How do you upskill on Android?

All my developers hate to be sent on training - the prefer online. Is that the case for everybody?? What are the best training resources?

The best thing to do is learn by example. If they know Java, you're 70% there. Grab them a copy of Hello, Android, give them a small project to do -- and off they go. Give them a deadline, and they'll learn. ;)

I always hated going to the JavaOne conferences and all that. It's more marketing speak then learning.

In my experience, classes are only good for a paid vacation. Learning is what I do on my own with google and an IDE.
