Just joined and thought i'd say hi. I don't have my phone yet, it's being shipped right now and should be here on Thursday I hope, It's a Rogers Magic. Have a few question though if anyone has time to answer a few.
Can any of the current themes be used on the Rogers phones yet? Does it have to be rooted? I'm brand new to the android OS so I'm not sure what is involved in changing themes etc.
I hear there is no access to the paid apps for this version of the phone is that true? If it is after someone has figured out how to root will that allow access to all apps free and $$. Thanks for any answers or suggestion anyone might have, just trying to learn as much as I can before the phone gets here.:)

Hi, like Lazy said, welcome to AC. I am not sure about Rogers phones, but I do have the Magic and have access to all paid apps as well as free. I am not sure why that would be different on Rogers.

The last thing I heard about Canadian paid apps was that Google Check-out needs to be rolled out in a Canadian specific format.

Susan, i've read in a few different posts here and else where that the paid apps are not available to Rogers htc magic. It would not have surprised me to find they disabled apps all together so we would have to buy from there crappy Rogers mall.

Anyone know if the phones have to be rooted to install themes or can they be done without? Any kind of a guide anywhere on how to apply themes or are they just self installing? Thanks again.
