Failing at the most basic step?

I'm trying to root my G1, but I'm having a problem I can't seem to get around

Every time I try to format to fat32 I get this error. I mount the SD card and go in and check the files and it works and then I try to format and bam. Then it magically unmounts itself and I have to remount it

I'm now rooted and cupcaked :)

ummmm BLUEX would be my recommended app its a bluetooth file sharing

I have no idea. I'm an applied tech major and I couldn't get it to work

I think the card readers are only $10-15 though
