Hey guys/gals,
I'd like to use 60x60 icons on my homescreen instead of the default 48x48. Better Cut sizes the icons down, as well as aHome. Sweeterhome is no option as I want to be able to use widgets and long press...
If possible I'd like to make the bubble where the text is in to be transparent (possible with aHome).
(p.s., I'm on a rooted HTC Magic Vodafone)

Sweeter Home will do this man, just need to wait until preview 2 which will have widget support.
Weird though, I think I noticed that QuickUninstaller must have either a big ICON or an SVG icon, because it displays at 48x48 on the homescreen etc, BUT it displays huge in the app listing in ShareMyApps. -- so it must be possible...
I'll post a screen shot in a bit...

Yea I really like Sweeter home, but it doesn't support widgets :[ and I'm not that well rounded enough with understanding the works of sizing icons differently cause I've always wished I could make larger Icons, and that I could disable the auto align feature on the phone.

That's fine, puney :) . Sweeterhome's configuration settimgs Are just so complicated... and i miss the auto align function.

OK here's my screenies.
Standard app drawer:

Now in the ShareMyApps app list:

So looks like QuickUninstaller has either a 128 (or similar) icon, or maybe it's SVG?
Here's how it looks with the icons at 70px in Sweeter Home:

How did you do that in sweeterhome? Are they draggable like in the standard home? The one thing that annoys me so much about sweeterhome is the settings UI, aHome does that much much better...
All those options in sweeterhome should be compiled into a PC app that can export skins, because skinning on the phone doesn't work that well.

Yea I've been trying to figure out how to create the right settings/numbers for larger apps. I wish it wasn't specific number entry to edit, but more so a hands on width and height scroll adjustment.
More user friendly.
Ever since Bettercut came out I've always wanted [at the time I was using open home and a mario theme] a BIG ASS BOWSER! Icon that would serve as a trashbin.
Of course that wouldn't work but still I'd love a large app like that.

OK, so in Sweeter you need to understand (and I only kind of do) how the icons sit on the screen. The icons sit in a "cell". This means it's not good enough to just adjust the iconSize. You need to make sure the cell is big enough for the icon to fit into it.
So you need to adjust the cellHeight, cellWidth and iconSize to get big fat icons. Remember that cellHeight must also account for the label (text) height.
All this is held in the iconStyle configuration for a tray.
