This may sound like a dumb question, but how do you tell what class of card you have? I have an 8gb SanDisk microSD that works fine in my G1. I'm considering rooting my phone and was going to upgrade it to a 16gb if the one I have isn't a class 6 card already.

It should have a little circle with a number in it. -a 4 or 6. This is the class of the card. If not...maybe a memory testing/info app like Sandra or something can identify it?

Do class 6 16gb actually exist, I have never seen one advertised. I am stuck on class 2 16gb sandisk?

They sure do. Check Newegg. They run about $50-60, iirc.
