Just blew in from crackberry.com, loyal bb user that went thru 3 blackberries in one year. Had that complex that the newer is better, well if you own a blackberry you will know that the only thing that differs from one to the next is strictly the model number. From the curve 8320 to the 8900 to the granddaddy Bold, it all felt like the last phone I used, no innovation, got sick and tired of it, decided to take a chance on android and I'm definitely not looking back, you wanna talk about a rapidly growing OS... sheesh!

Anyways figured I'd make friends since I'm new here, so Android nation, lets share our emails and make more friends along the way

Since we're talking about GTalk, figured it's a no brainer that all emails will end in @gmail.com unless of course it doesn't:p

Get at me!

Its my username @ gmail.com

Don't wanna post it for the spam bots to catch it.

Plus, a lot my friends and co-workers have blackberries and such, never understood the point of BBM if all of us have unlimited texting already.

its really addictive that's the only perk cos its so easy and intuitive to use, well that's my official excuse, too many steps when texting:D

I don't care to share my GTalk username, no offense, but I was a poor BBM buddy anyway. I'd like to address the comments posted. I too just jumped ship from BB, although I'm glad it only took 1 phone vs the OPs 3 to realize they are all the same and OS "upgrades" were, for the most part, just a shiny new theme change. BB seems to be where palm was, the OS is just getting dated. And BBM? Yeah, I didn't get it either. Most everyone has an IM account whether it's AIM, MSN, GTalk, or just plain old unlimited txt. Perhaps it was the "exclusive club" of having a BB, or the lack of threaded SMS on BB. Anyway, glad to have switched. I'm not looking back either.

Just to be sure, does the BBM client allow its users to send pictures, videos, music files to each other?

Yeah it supports file, picture transfer and voice notes as well but i never tried video cos of the file size restriction, which is limited to 15kb if i remember

I believe they are planning on doing away with, or atleast increasing that limit. I know the leaked BBM 5 was sending full size pics (couple 100k) to other BBM 5 users.

15kb?! That's the size of a corrupted video file !

bbm was great but all the people i knew that had blackberry phones were business men that didn't use it for pleasure just for email stuff
they all have other phones for fun and hay they were not the type of people i would message anyway so it never got used on my storm yet all my friends have gmail, and a lot are saying bye to old apple phones and say they like the look of android and are thinking getting one next time round. so i think i will use gtalk more and more
