Hi, I have now the Samsung i7500, but I get a problem: when it is connected to my desktop via USB, the device is recognized by the system (Windows XP) as a USB mass storage, nevertheless it doesn't allow me to transfer files to and from the mobile. I have always an error message saying: please insert disk into driver E: (which should be the phone). Anyone has a solution for this problem? Thanks!

have you selected to mount the sd card from the phone? there should be a USB notification in the notification area.

Hi and thanks for the answers!
I did mount the sd card and the phone recognize it without problems, I can listen to music stored on it, etc. Nevertheless, when the phone is connected to my desktop, it doesn't see the content stored neither in my phone's memory, neither on SD card and I can't upload anything to and from it
Otherwise I am very happy with the phone, I bought it from Germany, but it came SIM free (I live in Belgium). I payed 500 euros.
Using the phone I miss two little things: I can't change the size of fonts in certain application (contacts, sms) and sometimes it is hard to see the small letters. I can't change the default size of pictures to be taken by the phone, which would be useful in order to save memory space...Maybe I will find something on Android Market to fix these 2 little problems.
Generally speaking it is a very responsive, very quick phone, I am happy with the quality of the hardware (the amoled screen is fantastic) and the general funcionality is extremly userfriendly.

500 euros in belgium.... hmmm... if only i was going to belgium this year, instead of next year.
I'm glad you like the phone, it looks to be a great phone.
despite the naysayers hating on the ram.

The drivers thing is anoying! go to settings -> applications -> USB debugging and turn it on.

Install the Samsung PC Suite from the CD (don't plug you're phone in yet). It will install the drivers too.

Plug the phone in, and now it will find a 'composite device' and a bunch of other new devices. If it asks for a driver/can't find the driver, point it to Program Files\Samsung\USB Drivers

It will install all the devices, except one. Just ignore it. Now you can turn USB debuging back off if you want, and it will work every time.

[That one extra device that won't install in USB debugging mode is the android SDK driver for the debug port]

The reason this happens is that by default it detects it as a USB mass storage device. By turning debugging on it realises its a composite device (multiple virtual devices on the one USB connection)

Oh, and once you run PC suite DO NOT Update you're phone firmware. The new update stops PC suite from recognising your phone and a bunch of other bugs. Samsung pulled this new firmware update I heard, but if you do see it, don't update!

The old firmware ends in FE (you want to keep this one), the new one in G6 (you don't want to update to this!)
