This is my first game review so bear with me. I initially downloaded this app/game because i saw "ADC2" on the description and thought to myself LETS SEE WHAT THE DEVS HAVE IN STORE FOR ADC2 and let me just say, if this is what devs have in store for us then its gonna be a good challenge :cool:

WTD!? is pictionary style of game but with a more modern twist. You play against/with people all over the android world :cool: The first time i played this game it took me back to grade school playing pictionary with the class and a friend of mine trying to draw "sideburn" but he didnt know what a sideburn was :D so he drew a person getting burned on his side and random stuff like that, needless to say, nobody figured out what his word was.

When you open the game it will show a quick notification telling you how many people are online and how many games are in play at the moment. From this screen you can go into the options tab and edit your name, your face doodle (this is like your avatar,) turn "simulate strokes" on and off and turn one touch chat on and off.

Face Doodle
You can personalize your "avatar" to whatever you like, doodle a funny face or write your name its really up to you what you want to display :cool:

Simulated Strokes
Simulated strokes is an option when you have a bad connection and makes the game a little faster BUT the doodles not so accurate.

One Touch Chat
One touch Chat is more for users with a full touch screen phones. I turned on this option not knowing what it was and after that i couldnt figure out why i couldnt chat or post answers with my keyboard, well it was because this only works when your phone is closed and will pop up your touch screen keyboard

So if we go back to the main menu we can start playing a game by either clicking Find a Game or Private Game

Find A Game
In this tab you just choose the type of game you want to play and it will automatically find an open game for you. You can choose from
-easy
-medium
-hard
-team medium
-team hard
-freestyle

The games consist of groups of 5 players. As of now the game is in its early stages so the only place that gets people is on easy so i havent had the chance to play any other modes besides easy. It takes a while for 5 people to join the game but in the meantime the people that have already joined the game can chat with each other to pass the time :D you might even run into the developer of the game and give him some feedback on his awesome game his username is CHE.

The point of the game is simple everyone gets a turn with a secret word that they have to doodle and the rest of the players have to try and guess what it is. You win points for every doodle you figure out and the player with the most points wins the game. simple right? Yeah i guess it IS pretty simple but it gets addicting because sometimes you just cant draw a good enough picture with your finger

This was my drawing, as you can see on the top right of the screen it shows what your word is and at the bottom it shows the other players guesses. Whenever its your turn to doodle, instead of the chat box at the bottom right you get a pencil icon that brings up some options for your doodle (i didnt get it on the first screen shot because im such a good doodler that they quickly guessed my answer)

Pass
This is useful when you get a word you simply cant doodle or have just given up on trying to doodle

Close Guess
Whenever a player guesses something close to the secret word then you choose this option to let him/her know they are on the right track. I talked to the developer and told him/her that this option is a little hidden and would like to see it integrated into the actual doodle page.

Clear
Whenever your doodle just gets all messy or is not the picture you wanted to paint just click on this and you will get a brand new canvas

Besides these three options you also get color options and the size of the brush you use, great addition for all you picassos out there

If you think you know what the secret word is then all you would have to do is click on the chat bubble on the lower right hand and type your guess. There is no penalty for wrong answers so just type in whatever you think it is. If your guess is right you win that round and win points, the player with the most points at the end of the rounds wins.

SUMMARY
To be honest i think this is the funnest time i have had with my g1 since i bought it or since i rooted it. WTD!? is very addicting and fun for all ages. I cant wait to see what other features the developer implements. Hopefully this game gets more traffic so that the competitions can get even more interesting.

PROS
-doodling is always fun
-multi-player
-fun for all ages

CONS
- "close guess" is a little hidden for my taste
- sometimes hard to connect to server
- force closes every now and then

yeah but i feel its better with a hardware keyboard cuz its faster to type out answers whenever someone is doodling, but it works with all touchscreen phones

Great review Konzern, thanks for taking the time to look in-depth into 'WTD!?'. Really appreciate it.

I've released an update of the client so it should crash less now (was a quick fix). I've been mainly focused on the server for now though so there won't be any big changes to the client in the next week or so mainly due to ADC2 (and their unchangeable clients). There are a more people hooking up to the server and a few of them started playing the medium level games! Hopefully soon we'll be able to get some team games going :D .

'WTD!?' is still a little young so there's a lot of room for improvement, so please feel free to e-mail me for feedback, bug reports, technical issues or feature requests. I apologise in advance for any loss of user data due clean server wipes (its a side effect of a live beta).

To be honest even though I'm on the server just monitoring, I'm getting a little addicted to it myself! Oh and if you're US or UK based it might be quicker to guess by using voice recognition triggered by holding down the conversation button (I personally use soft input dictionary though :P ).

You know what, I'm gonna make a friends list.

Here's how I see it so far:

MENU button opens up friend's list. You can check friends in the list and send them personal messages.

In Profile, you can view your friend's face doodles/rank/score from a friends button.

Add friends in-game but require permission from other player.

another feature i think would be great is a yahoo games style lobby or something for each difficulty

it could show how many games are in play at the moment

I love this game. was on it last night until my battery completely died.
I agree with Konzern, a lobby of some sort would be nice. I logged in and saw 9 people logged in with 1 game being played so I figured I would be the 5th in a waiting game, checked all games and was 1 of 5. I guess others were looking at profile or something.

Can't wait until we get more people downloading this game.


One bug that I saw last night - I got Top Hat as a word twice in a row in the same game.

Yeah quite a few people have been requesting some way of seeing how many players are in a game without having to go in. I'll put something a little more transparent into the next update.

I've kept looking at the code that provides the secret phrases and it looks fine. It's purely random (a random index of a large list of words is selected) so I guess *it is* possible that the word top hat can come out twice or thrice or so on but will be less likely with more words. Easy has around 600 words, while both Medium and Hard have 1000 words each. More words to come in the future of course :D

I love love love this game and it's one of only TWO games downloaded on my mostly biz droid. However, I have found some bullies on there - people who will boot request or even accuse you for no reason. Keep in mind, I'm not a kid -- I'm a 40 year old professional woman!
