I just installed this ROM. All my apps on the SD card showed up fine. But I can't install new apps from the market and when I try to update apps they just get deleted.
The error I get is "installation unsuccessful".

If all your apps truly got moved to the SD card onto the ext2/3 partition, then I'd recommend you do a factory wipe and then re-install the ROM image. That *should* take care of the problem.
Since your apps are on the SD card, they should be fine and won't get deleted during the wipe. When the ROM installs, it should go ahead and make the symlinks back to the actual *.apk files on the sd card for you.

That's exactly what I would have said , ecept I would add one mre set of instructions . After you wipe and reupdate the rom , go into the console in recovery and type.....
su
fix_permissions
reboot

I did a wipe and fixed permissions, I also tried updating the partition from ext2 to ext3.
edit: I didn't try reinstalling the image after the wipe yet. I'll try that next.

You can't wipe without reinstaslling the image , ever . You lose inportant data . You al1ways have to reupdate after a wipe .

The problem was that my ext partition was full. It was only 150 MB. I guess it was just a coincidence that it filled up just before I updated to a new ROM.

The experimental ROM is quite a ride. Possibly as soon as tomorrow it seems a lot of the known issues are gonna be worked out. However, over on XDA there's a lot of chatter about compatibility with 1.6 (donut). I'm getting a lot of the same force closes that others are with "acore" and "home" that I know are system things that will be fixed. But I am also getting incessant fc's on (at least) TuneWiki and HandCent, possibly other apps. Is it likely that devs are going to upgrade the apps to make them donut-fiendly? Is there a fix that can be done with things as they currently are on the phone? Fix permissions doesn't do it...Thanks.

i use tunewiki religiously and am on 4.1.7 . not a single problem with it . you issue isnt the compatibility . try uninstalling it the re-installing it .
i have 155 apps right now , all of them work . yesterday i ran into a problem, a ran a certain script from my terminal and "bricked" my phone . i reupdated the rom first then ran the fix permission script . i noticed that almost all the apps , except for the stock apps had problems . none of the apk could be found . so i nandroid restored back to 4.1.6 , where everything was working , then i ran the script and noticed everything was back to normal . then i reupdated to 4.1.7 and everything is working . i thought i had a compatability issue with screenshot , but it is fine , it was just something i did .

Alrighty then, not sure what happened, but with the installation of 4.1.8 and downloading & changing settings on the Swapper app, I believe I may have just reached Android nirvana. All is good, fast, and even the screens are loading immediately. Now if you will excuse me it is time to watch Mr. Wesbrook hopefully remain upright and do some serious DAMAGE...
