How to update apps installed from SD card?

I've had the app for a while, and it was pretty much a battery hog until I read the 2.0 update for battery widgets, I had uninstalled it for space and backed the app up. How can i get the app to update since it doesn't show it in the market as my downloads.

You can't.
You can only update apps from the market unless you the website you got your .apk file at updates it as well.

it has to be installed on your phone first , only then can you update it .
you can update through the market , an app called my market and an app called atrackdog .
