I honestly think I will just stick to With Google branded devices, It's only a matter of time until the Android SDK for widgets gets animations like the hero and other specs become available.

If anything the Verizon Sholes will be the best Android phone to come out and I think that would be a good jump to buy, but I think I'll be consiervative and wait to see what kind of devices come out after that that are better and UI wise and all.

Plus any UI will be ported to With Google branded devices I'm sure of that, and I think users will loose Root privileges/capabilities with these UI's too a small extent..

Neither. The new Moto phone has a smaller screen than my G1, and the RAM specs for both don't excite me. The various manufacturers need to quit screwing around with small RAM footprints and slow processors and come up with something that screams. 256 megs of RAM in the Moto? If it was free I'd take it, but I sure won't spend any money for those specs.

I think it's worth a bit more than free, probably at least $99. Doesn't the iPhone 3GS & Palm Pre also have 256mb of RAM? And those are pretty much the top touchscreen phones in terms of hardware. Is there even a phone out yet with more than 256mb (besides from htc cheating and counting the 32mb of memory inside the processor and getting 288mb)? The only thing lacking is the processor, but if it's $99 then it is ok. When you have dumb phones out there that are that much, I don't think it is unreasonable.

So an extra 100 megs of RAM isn't an upgrade? lol, did everyone not go ga-ga over the chance to port a slow and buggy version of Rosie to their G1's?? you guys are way too funny

and yes, the iPhone runs off of 256, and it flies. It has a better processor tho. The Pre is not so zippy, but I'm assuming thats because its OS is more complex than the iPhone with the notifications and multitasking.

No and extra 100 megs alone is not an upgrade because we have swapper to compensate for that. Me personally I just wanted to see what Rosie looked like at first, the new Hero roms are much much faster. I won't be wasting money on none of the new android phones because they are essentially G1's with a little more ram and a different case. When the 1GHZ start rolling out in the near future, everyone is gonna regret buying any of these 528GHZ phones.

I also say none. None of these phones are a a big enough improvement to upgrade to. This is like upgrading from a MDA to the Wing. If you have money to burn then go for it.

The Iphone also handles processing differently then android based phones… android based phone have notifications and other processes that have to refreshed or monitored for updates. The Iphone doesn’t really do in multitasking the apps are simple ran and closed. The IM on the Iphone doesn’t stay active and u get don’t get updates warning you of new email and other things of that nature. Android phones work hard and your always update to date on what’s happening… I Love the old hero hate the layout of the new & Im with t-mobile the originator so ill have to pick up the Cliq… cant wait to get my hand on it… root root root!! The camera ram upgrade and other thing make it worth buying ..
