View Full Version : Does a higher class SD card only benefit with app2sd/music/video?

So I have a class 6 16gig micro sd card, and was wondering will I only notice the speed with music/videos? Or does it somehow help with the overall snappiness of the phone?

you might notice a rate at which images/videos/music may transfer to your phone, but nothing in quality. I have had 16gb and almost every class without noticing anything different but beside that G1 sound quality just plain sucks..

Right. It speeds up the Hero's Sense UI because the UI swaps/stores whatever in the sd card so it makes it run faster.

I'm honestly not sure I haven't been interested in Hero roms due to my low class sd card. But I would imagine that since you need to set up a few partitions on your sd card the better/faster it is the better it will run.

The Gallery thumbnails will appear faster. Album art will appear faster. Images will load faster.

I'm honestly not sure I haven't been interested in Hero roms due to my low class sd card. But I would imagine that since you need to set up a few partitions on your sd card the better/faster it is the better it will run.

you will be fine with any class card, i am currently and have always ran hero roms off a 2gb no class card that i had for about 3 or 4 yrs for my dash and i have no lag, load screens or fc's. the main thing in having a fasy smooth hero rom is modifying the user.conf file.
