I know Iphone has a push hack. I can't stand waiting up to 20-30 minutes even sometimes and hour to pull the SMS notifications on GV. I have everything set up properly, it's not my fault just sometimes texts don't arrive on time and it's random. I have the settings set to the fastest pull time on the official app, but it doesnt help. I tried some other apps that claim to have faster times but haven't noticed a difference and those apps aren't as intregrated as well.

There is a trick to do in on iphone. Any ideas?

Maybe someone could develop a SMS program for Android to push from the GV site similar to the Iphone, or an application like prowl that you can make a "hack" to do it with through email.

I agree 100%. I have it set to every 5 minutes and sometimes I go days without receiving texts until I open the app and hit 'refresh' myself.

I use an iPhone, but I do not think you need an iPhone to get this to work. Just push email. I put together a procedure I am using for the iPhone with Google Voice overseas. Perhaps part of this will help. I have been using this for several days now and it appears to be very solid. No external things to do, just configure GV, Gmail, and use your push client on your cell phone.

I have people pushing GV SMS out to me in China with notifications within seconds.

The Procedure I use as at this link (http://docs.google.com/View?id=dc2k4qdk_10695fktvw6ff).

What are you supposed to do after the create a filter step? It's not complete from what I can see. One of the apps in the Cyan ROM is called Work Email, and it uses Exchange. Instructions can be found at http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=138740. (http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=138740)
You have to configure it manually-step 10 is the important one. If you do the auto setup, it doesn't use the right server name. I have SSL checked.
When it's done, hit menu, more, settings and change frequency to as they arrive, how old e-mails to retrieve, etc.
