How do I get the market place app installed on my i7500 running 1.5?

The distribution image for these phone modifications has no Android Market. There are phones which are not "Google experience" and even have no android market at all. You can write to the seller and ask him why there is no Android Market. The second thing is to search on http://forum.xda-developers.com/ (http://forum.xda-developers.com/) for an image for your phone which has the market.

although it's inventory is smaller, you may want to look into using SlideMe as an alternative market: www.slideme.org

Flash it with the latest generic firmware using Odin, or use a custom rom. That's probably the best way. Or you could probably grab the apk from another phone, but who knows what else is missing on your phone.
