well i have heard talk of android being ported to phones without touch screen...also i can see them putting a hand on the screen that you move with the joystick and use that to simulate touch screen...ill post this at the pspupdates.com and see if it can indeed be done

how would you get android to initiate/play the games on a android platform?

I can't imagine Android would be doing anything related to the gaming functionality of the PSP. Seems to me that Android would be an alternative OS that one would dual boot in for potentially better application, multimedia, and internet tasking support. Don't think Android will be touching the gaming aspects that'll come default with the PSP so it would make sense to just have it as an alternative... not a replacement.

Wow, This would be so easy.

Grab an x86 port and boot it in bochs (X86 emulator)

If you can run Linux/Windows, You can run android!

by a lengthy process, I've been trying to get this working..
I downloaded the livecd iso of android for x86 and bochs for psp..
for some reason I can't seem to get bochs to boot the iso, but I've managed to use a program to boot livecd's from usb drives, then made a disk image of that, to use as a hard disk in bochs. so far, still no luck, however I did manage to get an attempt at it loading syslinux or something, so this could be very close to working!

I've got an idea how help proting projects, like a port on the psp. I'm trying to etablish a kind of "platform" especialy for android ports with a wiki an a forum.
There can people who are working on such ports like Jetdroid or Andromnia or a pot on the psp can communicate, share ideas, informations and so on.
This could realy help, as some phones and handhelds have similiar components.
If you like, you can help too, to get my idea running.
Just post stuff, edit the wiki (add something), and spread the link (very important!), or better this message.

Lets see if my idea will work ^^

There are already some PSPers discussing it as well:

And for those who are interested in trying to program it for the PSP:

Honestly guys, it's a neat concept but I would kind of wonder if it is really worth it.

The psp already has every emulator under the sun written for it, including N64 and a semi working DS. The other emulators are all basically perfect too. The NES one even features a live rewind.

It can also already play any PSX game made as well, run opera mini and not to mention the hundreds of PSP games already available.

It just seem's like the PSP would lose too much of its functionality under Android.

But if you had to do this, I would highly reccomend a basic 1000 model the security is minimal, the 3000's and go's are basically impregnable.

The guy who wrote the original custom firmware and is responsible for all the hacks is a fellow named Dark Alex, but he vanished from the community a year or two ago.

You could also try to consult the French GEN team who makes the current custom firmware that everyone uses.

it would be great if you could make it boot from the memorycard so instead of rewriting the system to android you could boot into android from the psp like you would a game file

gheez...... retardo... you are clearly not understanding the point. tweakers modders do it becauze it can be done, not cuz you can spent a couple of hundred to have it without doing anythinG! Everyone already has a psp and modding it is a cool thing to do. The point is not that there are other ways to achieve the same but to take the psp to the max and add as many as possible options Sony diddn't.
