Ok, so right now I have the myhero rom and I want to try other things that are out there. I rooted my phone following the unlockr videos and they show that I don't have to install any SPL or Radios the roms should just work. I didn't update any when I installed the myhero rom.

So now that I am going to be experimenting with other roms I want to make sure that I won't brick my phone or anything if I never installed diff SPL/Radios. I have the Rogers HTC Magic so its 32a. This is what the unlockr forums said when I asked if I should install new SPL/Radios
No you shouldnt have to. Just do the 1 click root procedure then the How to load a custom ROM procedure. Just do the partitioning of the card and then load the update.zip and you should be all set.
If after you do that it doesnt load up, then go back and load the radio and spl, but you should be fine without them.
Good luck!

If I don't have the right radio/spl will it mess up my phone when installing new roms?

Thanks

Most ROM's not all depends on the developer of the rom use the same SPL and RADIO.If you notice on xda-developers.com most ROMS come with descriptions and the developer will state if you need to change the radio or SPL. Try using xda-developers.com as your number one source to download roms.

Most of the Hero rons require you have Haykuro's spl with the current radio. If you need to install his spl make sure you install the radio first and then the spl,

Definitely install the Amon Ra recovery (there's a thread around here) and the switchrom script. Switchrom makes running different ROMs very easy.
