I am interested in changing to the new Walmart Pre-paid pricing plan (1 or the other) and keeping my G1 as my mobile phone (http://www.talkandroid.com/android-forums/#). The Walmart pricing for a family would save me roughly 1k annually and move my calls and data from T-Mobile to the Verizon network. Verizon

(http://www.talkandroid.com/android-forums/#)appears to have the best 3G coverage currently. So, imo we would have the least expensive voice, internet, data plan on the most built out 3G network. Verizon confirmed the G1 will work on the Verizon CDMA network.

Would it be possible to make this change in the G1 to use the Walmart pre-paid plan; and, if so, how?

The G1 is a GSM phone, whoever you spoke to at verizon was misinformed, you cannot use the G1 on there network
