Is there a privacy app option?

I am coming from Palm where they had a "private" option for contacts, memos and photos. Does android have any of these options?

Yea but it's in the market and some are paid applications, but I'm not 100% sure about hiding contatcs since that syncs up with Google but I'm sure it's out there just search the market for tags such as
Hide
Hide sms
Hide photo
Vault
Picvault
Secure
etc
