Verizon Droid campaign pits Moto Android against "iDon't" iPhone

"Don't you wish you had" the promo asks "a robot sidekick that moved at light speed, could get you out of any problem and lived in your pocket?" That's what Verizon are offering with the Motorola Droid, and the carrier has kicked off a major pre-launch campaign (http://www.droiddoes.com/) setting the iPhone firmly in its sights.

Of course something like this will come to Tmobile. That's just the barebones Android 2.0 you're seeing. That's not even any special UI put over Android.

Definitely liked the commercial, but Verizon can't do this alone. The majority of people still don't really understand what Android is or what it is capable of.

NO matter what the phone does, its still stuck on the same t-mobile network.
Big holes in coverage and lack of 3g cover is going to hamper ANYTHING t-mobile does in the smart phone arena.

theres alot of rumors that t-mobile put in a bid to buy sprint, if that happens then this wont be a problem

Sprint is a CDMA network with spottier coverage than even T-Mobile, from what I've heard. :\

Why would they want to buy Sprint; you couldn't even use T-Mobile phones on Sprint's network. :p

cdma or not, they already put in a bid of 10 billion dollars to buy sprint

just because you buy a 6 cylinder car doesnt mean you cant swap it out for an 8 cylinder

same goes with the networks. you gotta remember that sprint is the number 3 network in the nation behind verizon and att so buying sprint would make them a direct competition with those 2

love that second commercial, my only criticism is it should have said "Droid" in a robotic voice at the end. Because that is what the droid says at boot-up and also when you receive notifications.
