Well I was pushing the latest CyanogenMod. I was following his guide and used the HTC ADP 1.6 DRC83 image along with recovery 1.4. All was going fine unitll i hit the wipe!! Then that was it. It wouldnt reboot to recovery. or anything. I let it boot and after several tries it finally booted into a partially rooted 1.6 version. So now i cant get back to root, cant flash anything either. It has the factory recovery i think. Just the blue letters, and only apply zip from sdcard. So i installed the recovery flasher, that didnt work. I am solid in linux and can work the OS fine. but my UID isnt in the group to SU, and my ID is app_40. In the about my phone i show the following,

Model number = Android Dev Phone 1
Firmware Version = 1.6
Baseband Version = 62.505.2017h_2.22.19.26I
Kernel=2.6.29-00479-g3c7df37
Build number= dream_devphone-userdebug 1.6 DRC83 14721 test-keys

Anyone know how i can flash the cm-recovery.1.4.zip? Or get back to root? I installed the instantroot.apk and it said i was already rooted. Which im sure it is just pickup files from my previous root. So anywho. I have tried a bunch of ideas, searched the forums, and I still do not have it fixed. Can anyone help?

its all about reading directions and paying attention . you lost root . there isnt partial root . you are running the android developers phone os . just reroot manually , it will take you about 40-60 minutes . good luck :)

ah , its alright ! we all make mistakes . its part of being human . most importantly , is that you learn from your mistakes . and , btw , you are definately not the only computer educated person to mess up with android , it gets most at first ! ;)
