Yeah... How is the navigation? For example, I find myself using the trackball at times when I dont want to reach down to the physical keyboard.

If you are accustom to HTC style physical trackball, then you will probably hates the moment. but I kind a dig the virtual trackpad (very small but pretty responsive)

Are there any notable advantages of the added processor speed? Like program execution speed, or faster typing?

and I'm not sure if you can determine this by just simply using it, but what kind of frame rate is the video cam capable of?

1. Is the area around the keys on the keyboard a matte or glossy finish? In some images it appears glossy and in others like the one you posted it looks matte.

2. After a nightmare with stuck pixels on the TP2 I am very nervous about this. How is the screen on your sample as far as this goes? (I'm not sure if this is an issue at all with the AMOLED screen)

3. Another review stated that the space key was actually made up of 2 separate buttons underneath the space bar, are you finding yours to be the same? And what is your impressions of this if it is the case?

4. Please put this one to rest, some people are claiming this is a resistive screen while others say capacitive. I am confident it is the latter, but a definitive answer would be great.

5. How is the audio volume and quality on ring tones and speakerphone?

6. Do the hardware buttons have a satisfying click? These look on the cheap side in photos.

A lot of questions but would be very grateful for first hand opinions on them, thanks!

What I'd like to know is how the actual device performs, not what the spec sheet says. Thanx though

I second the missed call LED question. Does this phone have one?

It got such mediocre reviews from Endgadet and Gizmodo but I am wondering if they, like many, are using the iPhone as their measuring stick. I was planning on making this my first real smartphone (been using the tmobile dash w/ win mo) with a move to Sprint. I prefer a physical key board so I was going with this over the Hero as the specs on paper look much better. I think some of the bad reviews were based on it shipping w/ Android 1.5 but aren't most people rooting and using custom ROM's/OS?

I don't care if it isn't a "sexy" phone on the outside, I doubt any w/ a slide out key board can be. Does it feel like it is solidly built? If I treat it well will it last through my 2 year contract?

how do you feel it performs compared to the hero? does the sense ui on the hero make a huge difference?

I just picked up this phone yesterday, they were out of the Hero... so the lady talked me into this one, and gave me quite the deal.

So far I like this phone. The screen is in fact capacitive.. no, it will not work with a stylus. It FEELS like a glass screen... if its plastic, its damn good.

I think people measure it with their iPhones (like myself), but what you have to do, is let go of that thinking and start looking at the phone for what it is (I know, its hard NOT to compare it). So far, I think its excellent. It looks cheap, but it really doesnt feel cheap, at least to me.

I will have to agree on the looking cheap. It looks like a very nice phone.

I am a BB convert and I have to say that so far the platform feels like it's in it's infancy for the business world where as the BB is a full fledged business warrior.

It is definately a more personal use phone.

It is like a crossover vehicle. Not really just a phone, not really a business phone either.

After using it for a while, how do you like the heft/weight of the phone? Does it feel sturdy?

I'm with you on the missed call LED question also. I have the phone and there needs to be an update to correct the missing visual notification.

As long as we are critiqueing (sp?) it, there also needs to be some way of changing the backlight on the keyboard. 5 seconds is definitely too short.

It will keep typing until ur done with the text message and break it down into several text messages for the recipiant if it has too. One of the first features that made me fall in love with android a year ago.
