Alternate G1 Virtual Keyboards...?

I'm beyond tired of the standard vk that came with update 1.5.

What other options, other than Better Keyboard, do I have to choose from?

You can install the HTC keyboard if you find the .apk online.

Do I have to have root for HTC_IME?

If not, then where could I find the .apk to download it?

google it for the apk, at this point its practically everywhere, you also have the choice of touch pal, best ones really are better keyboard and the HTC board

I happen to find BetterKeyboard works best for me, but HTC is very close... it's really six of one, half a dozen of the other.... chocolate vs. vanilla...black or white, even or odd...

(sorry, got started, and couldn't stop....)

Thanks for the advice everyone. I think I'll stick with Better Keyboard. I love it. Seems to be more responsive than the standard Android vk. Plus the UNC Tarheels skin is great.
