Check out GDE, now available in the Market!

This is a new home replacement, which multiple transitions, including cube... gives the appearance of a cube, as you switch from one home screen to the next!

Also has stretch and fading transitions, as well as a new apps drawer.

List of features (so far!)
1. Infinite desktop rotation. Your homescreens never end. Go from last screen to first and vice-versa just by swiping in that direction.
2. Normal icon view in tray, as well as list view with alphabetical grab handle (much like contacts scroll)
3. Folder flexibility. Place folders in tray. Drag folders to desktop. Place items in closed folders on desktop. Place items in open folders on desktop. Place items in folders in app tray. Drag folders from desktop to tray.
4. Transition selection. Choose from: Normal, Cube, Stretch and Fade transitions. More to come. (I want a sphere next )
5. Configurable buttons on tray handle
6. Access phone settings from GDE menu or configure a tray button for even faster access.
7. User configurable number of homescreens
8. User definable default homescreen. (i.e. If you have 5 homescreens, you can select any of them as default when you press the home button)

For a version 0.1, this is an amazing start!

Yup I saw that at xda and was stoked to see it in the market, wasn't stoked at the fact I can't purchase it yet.

So far it's pretty sweet! It runs a little slow with the transitions like Cube turned on, but that's to be expected I guess. I will use it for a few days and see how it goes. Good work so far!

I'm still looking to take the plunge with a home replacement app. This one looks very cool.

I've found that the fade transition is by far the fastest transition from one screen to another, on any home replacement app I've tried.

Developer is also updating this program like crazy! He's already released update v. 0.02, 0.03 and tonight, 0.04!

He's added Google search, which wasn't working previously, and has said he's now going to work on adding themes, landscape and some other stuff, then will optimise.

He's also implemented endless scrolling, so if you have, say, five home pages, and you're on the farthest right screen, you can simply scroll one more to the right to get to the farthest left screen, instead of having to scroll four pages left! In otherwords, pages are in a continuous loop, rather then five (or seven or whatever) pages in a row.

I've purchased thru marketplace, however, it can't download...it shows purchased but errors when installing stating it can't download. :(

Looks really cool. I have one question... how removable is this? If for some reason I want to go back to my old home (I have a Droid), is it relatively easy to do? Is it just a matter of uninstalling GDE?

if its an app from the market then yes a simple uninstall should do the trick. If not a factory reset will clear everything and get you back to stock

these home replacements are just "shell" GUIs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shell_%28computing%29#Graphical_.28GUI.29_shells) on top of the desktop. A simple uninstall shouldn't touch anything with the main (default) home GUI.

Thank you much. I'm waiting for the developer to add support for landscape/portrait auto-sensing, then I'm likely to give this a shot on my Droid. Thanks!

I'm on Cyanogen 4.2.5 and it seems to run nicely for me

Only annoyance however is that Cyanogen got me spoiled to having landscape on home screen, something I'm not getting in GDE

This is probalby one of the dopest apps to come out for Android thus far. I was playing with it on the BART today next to some iPhone user, and he couldn't stop starring at me spinning a cube to look at my widgets and all that. Everytime I'd look up, he'd look away - which is standard for iPhone users.

Anyway, this thing is awesome, the only issues I have are the inability to remove the Adv App Tray, and dragging App from Tray to Trash doesn't bring up the Uninstall anymore (idk if that was Adv Launcher specific or not).

Just go into your application settings and clear the defaults for GDE. Hit your home key ( i think y'all have a home key ) and it'll ask you what you want to use, check "Home" and check "Use as default"
