my one big question is ..... why did you root ?
everyone does it for their own specific reason looking to get their needs fulfilled . what was the reason that you needed/wanted to root your phone ? only you can answer that !
i originally rooted because i needed to wirelessly tether . but , now that function isnt as important to me . i like modding my phone and having the ability to do with it what i want :D

Here is a link for themes. Your theme must be compatable with the rom you are running.

If you haven't picked a rom yet I would suggest Cyanogen. This 4.1.9999, tonight sometime he coming out with 4.2, stable.

Keep reading the forums and educating yourself . As questions if you can't find answers . We will be happy to help . It look scarrier than it really is , probably because you are new to it and the terms are probably strange to you . Find out what thing mean , get comfortable with it , then enjoy modding your phone . It took me months of reading and researching before I dove into it . Really , its scarier than it really is . Its your phone now , do with it what you want :)

yea , ive been using it for a couple weeks now .
i love that tether ! i sat on a bench near a lady with a laptop . i saw that she was getting frustrated , and realized that she was trying to catch a weak wifi signal . so i asked if she needed a data connection , she did . i ended up having a pleasant chat with a pleasant lady while she was downloading some spreadsheets tethered to my phone :)

Not only are you a scholar, you truly are a gentleman. Do you still have company? My daughter is in the Bronx until Sunday, was supposed to go to R.I. and Marthas Vineyard but was to rainy so the stayed in NY.

here is a series of instructions i followed to the T . but i did not see the color change or menu options - Now that you have root, take Cyanogen's recovery 1.4 image - place on sd card as is, DO NOT rename. Go to your apps and open terminal emulator, type SU then hit enter.

You should now see a #. Type this EXACTLY: flash_image recovery /sdcard/cm-recovery-1.4.img then hit enter.

If you get an error you DID NOT type exactly what I put, including the spaces . Once you see the # again, type reboot recovery. It will bring you back into recovery mode. The writing will now be green and you will see different options, including one for installing updates WITHOUT having to rename them - YAY!

please advise everything went as planned except new menu options

A friend of hers had a ticket as her husband couldn't make it so she got a free trip. Just had to drive 150 miles to DFW and back.

Reboot holding home and power and you should see a new recovery image if everything went as it should. Should be black screen with yellowish print, should say cyans 1.4 recovery toward the bottom.
