Anybody on t-mobile feel like we are getting the short end of the stick? I would trade first to grab an android handset for any of verizon's android phones they will be getting this year. That with no rumor for any great android handsets to be hitting t-mobile by the holiday's means we're going to waiting until next year as long as no surprises show up.
Just kind of gets on my nerves, but its good to see android spreading the way it is, just wish t-mobile wouldn't keep grabbing all these phones with the same specs.

Hey now, let's not forget all the other great phones Tmobile is putting out while Android is still developing...SYKE!
Idk I'm gonna sit with the g1 for awhile, Holiday season is coming up and I've seen the Android phones from Tmobile to come out and I don't like any of them. Just gonna chill and wait around I guess.

Ya i know, g1, mytouch, cliq, galaxy... what do they have in common? Practically everything. max 256mg ram, which is good, but not coupled with the crappy 5 year old processor they all share. whats the maximum internal memory of those phones, 512 megs, before the OS install. The behold 2 has an OLED screen, and trust me everything you've heard about those screens is true. Great looking, worthless in the sunlight. So now im left wondering what t-mobile has been thinking haha.

I'm sure Tmobile will get some nice phones in the near future as well. I believe most phones have a lifespan of about 1.5 to 2 years so I'm sure that by that time there will be many more options available for everyone.
You have to remember that those of us that got the first G1s are pretty much like beta testers and I think we should have known that when we first got these phones.

I know i've had the g1 since launch, just wish some new hardware would come out that was actually an upgrade, not a sidegrade.

Well project dark or black wasn't that newsworthy. My old plan is still about $30 better than any of the new ones. Hopefully we will get some good android phones soon. The have the new winmo you have and the new nokia are good phones.

Idc about a faster processor or ram, I care about the god damn market. If the market picks up, and games become awesome, I'll get a new phone. But there's no point in putting an ugly girl in a nice new dress.

Personally, if I don't hear news of a new phone coming to T-Mobile by the time the Droid is released, I'm paying the ETF, switching to Verizon, and selling my G1.

If the phone can't play the game, Which im telling you this processor and gpu can't handle iphone level 3d games, then the games won't be made.

I wouldn't be to quick to jump to Verizon. God only knows what they'll cripple on the phone so that they can continue their predatory business practices.

Yea I get and understand that part, as I was writing that I was biting my tongue because I wouldn't mind Gameboid and Snesoid playing better but I think it really comes to the draw of developers interested. I've seen devs run apps flawlessly in the Emulator for the Android but on the phone they aren't any good. And so it's up in the air.
Hopefully Verizon will get good devs for the platform.

I'm still trying to find out the "bad" with Verizon, other than the high prices. How can they cripple an open development-oriented OS/phone? Seems to me that that would go against everything they are advertising this phone to be...by that I mean not limited like the iPhone.

Yeah its a bit of both, for example, i have a picture of the same game, one from my touch pro 2 (same processor as all of the android phones) and one from the iphone. simply put its just nicer on the iphone, and thats because of the graphics and processing power.

If you like the Iphone so much why don't you marry it?
:p
Lol who knows. It's only been a year ya know, and the first Iphone had the same exact auto refresh problem the g1 had....has.

Listen.... im just showing you the deal haha. :). Cant argue with picture evidence, same game from the same maker and different graphics and its for a reason.
Ya im thinking the auto refresh is an OS thing, because a few Iphone OS updates later and the original iphone doesnt do it any more. Who knows though.
You just gotta think though, my iphone 2g from 2 years ago has better specs (power wise) then the new android phones. The Droid is a different story, that thing is spec heaven.

All I have to add is that if T-Mo doesn't step up their Android hardware soon, I'm going to be unhappy also.

On second thought, I think I'll put that $200 ETF towards the Droid, lower my plan on T-Mobile to almost nothing, and just have both carriers. I think I can work out something between the 2 to be at around $100 or so a month.

i predict the dragon will come to T-Mobile
hondamx525

I wish the would announce it already. Tmonews generally knows pretty far into the future, and its not in there upcoming phones list leading into Q1 2010 so far.

It wont go to ATT. ATT won't have android until there iphone esclucivity (sp?) is at least announced. Verizion already seems to have a leaked version of the dragon showing up for them. =[.

but remember that att already said that they are keeping an eye on android and if the customers want it they will get it!
to me that means they are already working on getting an android
T-Mobile was the VERY first who took the gamble, the rest waited and jumped in when they saw the potential. That is why I am with TMo, it is GSM so I can pop my SIM card in or out any phone I want.

I agree!
T-mobile knows what they are doing (at least I hope so!)
I'm pretty certain we will get something with a snapdragon or better before the new year!
I would guess around Black Friday if T-Mobile was smart!

I've had Sprint and Verizon and as you can see I'm with T-Mobile.
T-mobile will be # 1 in a few years and I will still be here!

We had our 15 minutes (1 year) of fame, now its their turn with the Droid phone breaking new grounds, dont worry out time will come again (i.e. Snapdragon...fingers crossed)

Let Verizon have there little 15 minute of fame. They are getting a device that has a snapdragon processor big deal. I don't think T Mobile is going to just sit back and not get any higher end android devices, now I am pretty sure T Mobile will get some devices that will have a snapdragon processor (I hope:), I just don't think they will get one in 2009. T Mobile probably wont see one until early 2010.
I myself would rather just stay with T Mobile and wait it out, I had Verizon, sprint and AT&T and I like T Mobile the best, besides i still love for my G1.
