Mirror screen for HUD

Hi,

I am trying to develop a HUD for measuring speed using the GPS. Is there any support from android api:s to mirror the screen for display information the will show up on the cars windshield?

I really want to do this too! I have the perfect spot on my dashboard for my Droid, and it looks sick with the google Nav up except for the mirroring effect.

Perhaps if the phone is rooted, there is a way to do it in standard linux that we can apply?

I want to do this too! Please someone at least point me in the right direction. For the short term I may just look for a lens that I can mount in the car and just place my phone under it.

Yes I manage to do this a while ago and you can find it in my app: uHud.

I did it using an Android animation the flipped the screen. I think I got my inspiration from some example on Android developer site.
