View Full Version : Phones & the subconscious
Two nights ago I had my first phone nightmare! In my dream I was in a pub watching an international soccer match between Ireland and Scotland on the big screen. I left my phone on the table in the midst of lots of pints and someone spilled beer on my phone. (Here's the really scary bit) When I picked my phone up I realised it was not only ruined but it was a Motorola oyster shell phone with an aerial!!!! I woke up in a sweat and it took me a while to realise that my lovely Hero was resting safely on the bedside table (whew!)
We should talk more about the subconscious here on AC! Any more phone nightmares? It's almost Halloween!

Mmm...would it matter that they made me cycle to school on a bike that was two sizes too small?
The app required is a 'soccer encounters unlikely to send you to the pub' app

Personally , I think your hero is trying to tell you something , it wants a pint also . It goes out with you only to be left on the counter watching you and your friends have a good time . If you were giving your hero some attention maybe it wouldn't need that pint ! Its wanting to drink out of boredom . And that old oystershell phone w/an aerial is how your hero feels when its being ignored . Just a plain old nothing . Its a good thing that your android is contacting you in this way , maybe there's enought time left before it actually turns into that oystershell phone :D
Mmm..interesting Dr Simms! Now that you mention it the phone did sit on a NY bar table right through the Yankees v LAA game last week - that had to be traumatic! There was a lot of shouting too. Jeez these HTC phones sure are sensitive!

this brings up the all important issue of putting your sim into an older phone when you go out drinking

that putting your sim into an older phone when you go out drinking could potentially bring up even more nightmares and deep issues with your android . be careful !
Well, still, my old SE sat through Superbowl Sunday in a Baltimore sports bar and exhibited no signs of post-traumatic stress disorder! But it was Swedish..
BTW, this resembles the phone in my dream

Lastly, am I really the only person on AC who's had a phone nightmare (as opposed to, like, the everyday nightmare of bricking your phone etc) - ain't there anyone else around with a subconscious?

I think there's a post to put hello moto ringtone on a G1.
Ah, ggrant, your new avatar definitely proves you have a subconscious!
Might just look out that ringtone!

thanks ggrant - it'll probably upset my phone A LOT!
This group therapy thing isn't bad!
After an 18 hour day of screenface (deadline looming) - my Mac crashed locking up the document I was working on and I had to write most of the doc again from memory - now I need counselling AND pharmaceuticals! There's a real wide-awake nightmare!

Set the memory timings to 5-6-6-18 and f10ed. Ended up in reboot loop and had to "start Windows normally". At desktop went into MemSet and timings were still the old 5-7-7-24 and the voltages were the same in EasyTune.
