Hello, my phone is out of date, who wants to help? [Archive]

Some of you may have noticed that i've been somewhat absent for a bit (or atleast quietly lurking in the corners)

But now my phone is seriously outdated, and i'm pretty clueless right now on where to go next. Anyone want to walk me through updating to the newest cyan rom? I haven't flashed a thing since the new way and would love to have my hand held through the process...

also should i stay with cyan's recovery or give amon's a go? (remember i don't use extensions.

Get amon ras recovery . Amens recovery makes things much much easier . Also , in my sig there is a link for rooting and putting on cyans latest . Read the part about putting on cyans latest . Welcome back to the darkside !

alright new recovery successfully installed. sure is a lot of menu options ;)

guess i'm going to have to do a full renovation of my sig once all this madness is done.

If you go to the alt x console and type utility, there is even more options.

hey i just thought of something. i need to install stericson's lockscreen

is 4.1.11.1 the most up to date version of it? and is it just installed like an apk?

also why was i under the impression the "new" process was going to be more difficult then the old process? i'm done. updated. recovery and everything.

when reflashing do you have to redo the htc-recovery step or is that a one time thing. it installed the google apps and is done?

ok just finished the advanced launcher replacement. and now time for the lock screen.

ok i have
amon's recovery
the newest cyan available
the replacement advanced launcher
and stericson's lock screen
all installed now.

first if i decide to remove the lock screen how would i go about that?

second is there anything else i've missed in my hiatus that i really should install, before i start redoing all my settings?

1. just re-update the rom . every rom update you will lose it , unless cyan decides to include it in the rom , which looks like he decided to next update !
2. you need to install the swiss army knife hack . it includes 2 knives , a saw , scissors , toothpick , tweezers and a file :D

i saw it! luckily i've been super lazy on the couch for each game. so i haven't needed it, but if i have to work during one of the games. i will be downloading it really quick.

don't know if I was searching wrong but I could not find it.
