Anyone know if its correct or not?

good lord; as if Verizon didn't already have the most expensive phone plans already.

I was really considering this phone, but going from a T-mobile plan with 600min/400SMS for $75 down to a 450min/200SMS for $85/month really sucks.

If this is true and Verizon wants to charge yet another $15/month on top of their highway robbery for a HTTPS connection to an Exchange server, then it looks like I am staying with T-Mobile- maybe with the Cliq instead...

Gee, I only paid about $25 for Touchdown and it includes free updates for life (one of which added ActiveSync). And no extra to T-Mobile. I don't know what the heck Verizon is thinking on this one.

Ah- looks like it may be bad info in the post from infoworld:

http://www.gearlog.com/2009/11/personal_droid_data_will_cost.php

Basically they are saying if it is a personal contract data plan, you pay $30. If it is a corporate contract data plan, you pay $45.

I have been with Verizon for several years. 45/mo is not mandatory, winmo devices and blackberry have the same two plans, 30 and 45. You can pick 30/mo no problem, and still be able to ActiveSync.

I've managed to sync my work calendar through exchange.
Should I also be able to get my work email through exchange?

I have not paid the extra $15.00/month.

Edit: Somehow I started receiving my exchange emails 15 minutes after syncing my calendar.
I think I'll attend Verizon's Droid workshop.
I think I won't mention exchange to them. :)
