Cannot boot into cm recovery 1.4

Flashed 4.2.3.1 from cm updater -- android.process.acore constantly after flash. rebooted to no avail. reflashed 4.2.2 -same problem. went through checks couldn't find problem. started from scratch - used CM full update guide up to "recovery image". seemed to take: i got the ## but when i shut off the phone to install OS & cyanogen it booted to the triangle/! screen. tried several times with same result (insanity). i did not have this issue on other occasions on other phones. i'm on a G1 with build rc29 and currently v 1.0. pls help i need sleep. :) thanks.

When you tried to flash cyanogens did you have to flash the htc recovery? Sounds like you have to reflash his recovery image or go with ra's recovery which gives you alot more options.

recovery doesn't take. i get the options of "wipe", "flash update.zip" and "alt l". cannot "apply any zip".

Same thing happened to me while trying to update to the latest Cyanogen. Somehow I ended up flashing Google Ion on the thing. Now I dont have root and I dont have the amon recovery I had before. I cant figure out how to fix it.

You have to reroot :(

So I got my phone back to 1.5 unrooted and for some reason now when I try to run flashrec with package installer to root the phone there is an error "Parse Error: There was an error parsing the package". I've tried two different versions of the flash rec. Any idea what is going on.
