Ok...I used the search button and didnt find anything!

I just got my G1 and I would like to use it with my AT&T service. I did some research and I had a friend use his Tmobile phone to get access to the damn SIM code. This was 4 days ago. Is there anything else I can do to unlock this beauty of a phone so I can start modding it? TIA!!!!!!!!

Since you are not with T-mo, it sounds like you are going to have to buy an unlock code from one of the commercial vendors on-line.

No....my friend called it in. They said it would take 24-48 hours. But its been 4 days now. I wanna know if there is ANY OTHER WAY AROUND THIS!

Other than paying...you will just have to wait.

I have requested unlock codes for 2-G1's...my MT3G, and my old Dash. Tmobile has to request the code directly from HTC then they will send it back to tmobile...then tmobile will email it along with instructions to the email address on the tmobile account.

The process has always taken about a week and a half.

So....how long does it take when you buy the code? Wouldnt that take the same amount?

Not too sure...I am a tmobile customer, so when I get the unlock codes...its mostly for resale purposes and I dont mind waiting.

I think when you buy them online through a third party, they have the same algorithm based off IMEI number and can provide them much quicker...but again I cannot be 100% sure.

I bought two G1 unlock codes from an American seller on eBay - it cost $12 (~£7) and he had the code to me within one hour. He undertakes to get the code to you in an hour during business hours Eastern Time.

Do an eBay search for this auction number 130302219178 or search out auctions by blowfish06. I have no connection with this seller other than as a happy customer :)
