apparently you just hold the icon for a few seconds and drag it down to the grey bar thing at the bottom. That must server as a multi task bar and trash can. Gets it off the main screen, although the same deal does not work on the next page. Can't delete the amazon from that screen. Must be some kind of revenue sharing deal between google amazon and verizon. I won't purchase music that way, so it sux that they make me keep that icon that I won't use.

I would like to remove that and some other apps not showing, no way to remove them it appears, much like Apple and certain apps. So much for an "open" OS.

that's weird. does it not bring the trash can at the bottom of the screen when you hold the icon?

No, there isn't an amazon app on the main screen (unless he put it there himself). I think he means the app screen.
The only way to get it off of the app screen (the panel you pull up from the bottom of the screen) is to delete the program, which I'm not sure how to do. I think it might just be one of the core applications that you can't get rid of.
Don't start crying about the OS not being open because you can't delete everything you want. I think you can deal with the amazon app sitting in the app panel.

By accident, I may have found a way.
I downloaded ES File Explorer, and changed the default path from /sdcard to / From there I was able to browse the entire file system, including where the apps are installed. I suspect You could just delete the file if the permissions allow. I haven't been brave enough to try yet :)

Problem? Don't like having the Amazon app in the app drawer?
Answer Download " AdvancedLauncher " hit the home button, select advanced launcher. Slide the app drawer open, long press the amazon Icon, then drag it to the trash and it won't show in the app drawer anymore.
Advanced Launched is a HOME REPLACEMENT that allows such features.
