I currently have the Samsung Moment. I also use google voice. When I first started using the phone and sent a text message, a prompt came up asking which number to use to send the text message. If I recall correctly, it gave me the option of using the GV number, using my actual Sprint number, and a selection to always remember my selection and use the same one.

Well i selected the third option and now it ALWAYS sends a text from my Sprint number. I cant for the life of me figure out how to get that menu back or how to get it to prompt me before I send a text.

Of course, if I reply to one, then it replies to whatever number the sender sent the message to. But I want to be able to initiate a message from my GV number.

I tried looking up every setting menu I could think of. I have found settings to select which number the phone calls come from, but nothing about text messages. Anyone have any clue what I did or how to fix this? Uninstalling the GV app and reinstalling it had no effect.

Try

Settings > Applications > Manage applications > Google Voice > Clear Defaults

Maybe that will work for ya.

That box is grayed out and it says "no default settings."

This is very strange, because I KNOW it asked me which number to use when I first sent messages.

I'm in the same boat, I want the option back and the clear defaults button is greyed out as well. Anyone else know what we're missing here?

Thanks!

All u do is open up the g voice app, hit menu, settings, then the first option should be "making calls". This is where that option is changed.

Thanks, but that is for calling. We're not talking about calling, we're talking about text/SMS.
