new thread using Handcent

Ok, dumb question: when using Handcent, how do I create a brand new text thread (or conversation) with the same person? For example, I've texted back and forth with my friend Tony. I now want to text Tony again, but in a completely new thread. Is this possible? No matter what I do, it just keeps continuing the same thread.

I believe the only thing you can do is clear the current thread, then start a new one.

You can't have two threads with the same person with Handcent, to my knowledge.

Why would you? What difference does it really make?

The question of "Why would you want to?" in regards to having the option to start a new thread with someone is simple: If you have someone you talk to everyday, you may want to refer back to a text and not have to scroll through 500 lines of texting. I know you can delete whole threads and even parts of messages, but if I text about a document and he or she replies "I received the file, thank you." then I would like to save that as proof of receipt and refer to it easily. There are a number of scenarios where it would be helpful, both in professional settings and in just day-to-day life exchanges.
