Is anyone here excited and waiting for the Samsung Behold II? Well, this new Android phone by Samsung is, according to the rumors, coming soon. I'm not very fond of the name, but hey, what can I do, maybe more of you do like that name. But this upcoming smartphone looks good on pictures and video, so we'll have to wait and see if it will be good or not.

Software developers typically learn early on about the risks of taking off-the-shelf software and making proprietary modifications: from that point on, you will be responsible for maintaining that software as upgrades come out. It's no surprise the phone is shipping with Android 1.5...Samsung probably spent a lot of developer time customizing it with the new UI, and now they're going to have to do all that work over again with Android 2.0.
Something to consider about phones with custom variants of Android on them: they won't ever be the first to get upgrades. This is just an exceptional case.

I was able to check out the phone in a store for over an hour, I was impressed with every single aspect of it except one.................it has NO MEMORY! The settings menu showed 153mb TOTAL internal memory and less than 100 free for apps. For such an awesome phone Samsung and T-Mobile massively killed it by taking away all the memory.

damn...I don't get why Android phones HATE internal memory...that is my one major gripe with Android so far, and its not even an Android fault, its a hardware one.

I'm probably getting this phone. I CAN'T BELIEVE it doesn't have at least 1.6 Donut. Donut has been out for a long time, for crying out loud. It's insane.
I'm also worried that they won't upgrade for a while, because it was just reported today that Samsung is working on a new mobile OS all their own. I'm really worried that this phone won't be upgraded, but at least there is the dev community.

How's the speed? It hasn't been reported what the processor is, which tells me it's probably the old qualcomms. but from what i've heard, this is one of the speeder phones on that processor (if it indeed is).

apparently the official unveiling for this phone will be thursday (the 12th) i assume all specs will be finalized then, and then on sale the 18th.
i hope they saved a few cards up the sleeve to make it a little fancier inside. Even though i'm still considering this phone, i'll just have to see a side by side with the g1 and price comparision etc...

It's actually really fast, the only time I got a lag was swiping home screens because they all have different wallpapers and a big animation when swiping, the cube was pretty smooth, although I wouldn't see myself using it much.
