I'm not sure if this should go here or in the Motorola section of the forum, but I think it's more of an OS thing (even if I am using a Droid).

Ok, so...slight backstory. I've been using roboform for years. Makes browsing the web so much easier. Unfortunately there is no app for it on the droid, so I looked around and found this thing called LastPass.

Looks great, except for one major flaw - it won't automatically fill in webpage logins / fill forms. Kind of the point of the thing, though, besides just storing password.

The thing is, they say it will automatically fill forms on the iPhone (http://blog.lastpass.com/2009/01/opera-google-chrome-safari-iphone-opera.html)

And this is how they do it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0ywFSKX1k8&feature=player_embedded

Now, I was able to sync my Firefox bookmarks with my phone using My Bookmarks. However, it still will not automatically fill in login information. I can go to my bookmarks, click the button in there for LastPass Fill in, and it'll work, but that somewhat defeats the purpose.

I know that article mentions something about syncing to the desktop, even though the video shows them syncing the browser.

Anyone know a way to do this or am I just out of luck on this one?

Thanks :)

Hi, I'm one of the developers at LastPass.

The links you reference for the iPhone above pertain to our bookmarklet functionality. Unfortunately, as far as I know, the Android browser doesn't yet support bookmarklets (see http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=1676).

However, the LastPass for Android application does indeed support filling. It does this by hosting an embedded browser, as otherwise we have no way to hook into the default Android browser. To access this embedded browser, you can either choose the Browser menu item while viewing the main list of sites, or you can select an individual site and then choose the Launch menu item to launch that specific site.

To enable bookmarklets (including your Instapaper bookmarklet, which will work):

* Get My Bookmarks (free) from the Market

* Export your *desktop* computer's Chrome, FF or IE bookmarks

* Go to the My Bookmarks site on your desktop computer

* Upload the generated file

* Load My Bookmarks on your Android device

* Begin importing

* Choose "One by One"

* Import only the bookmarklets (plus any other bookmarks you want on your device)

The bookmarklets will now be in your browser *without* the html:// prefix.
