Hey guys..just purchased the Eris and love it..however, i cant seem to access some websites that i used to be able to using my WM device. I am trying to access live streaming stock quotes and L2s from a service provider Quotstream..there are other service providers out there to and i cant seem to access their websites either through Andriod browser..this is a bit of a bummer at the moment considering I utilize trading tools all day long ... Any ideas or anyone have any expereince with this or work arounds..?? TIA

The best thing I've found so far is an app called iStockManager

it uses live data from TDAmeritrade.

but it needs quite a few improvements:

1) if you leave the app and cruise to the browser for a sec, and then come back- you gotta reconnect.

in fact you gotta re-login all the time.

2) the charts are weak- they dont have a "refresh" option and they are goofy line charts- i think they are like a 5 minute+ smoothed (consolidated) line.

It would be better to have it fresh every X seconds, or at least let you manually refresh it- and please.. CANDLESTICKS.

no stochastics, RSI, MACD either.

but the app will do in a pinch.

There's another app called "stock chart" or something that will show you a delayed Daily chart with Stochastics. handy for making a decision based on a daily chart, but not much good for anything else.

the charts on that one are pretty nice though- would be good to see it have ive data from TD and an intraday chart- a 5min chart realtime w/ RSI/Stochs would be sweet

Google Finance is another possibility. If its loaded, I get up to the minute information.

hmmm... thanks for the feedback ..i hope they tweak the browser soon to allow for use of some the live streaming Java tools i utilize..like i said the website pulls up the trading platform but it will not let me access the login fields..another site that i try to use will let me log in but when trying to load trading tools it just stalls out saying its looking for Java settings and never does find them

..are there other browsers for the android platform that would allow more use of these sort of intensive Java programs??

right on.

you can check out their forum for the latest news.

they are currently working on candlesticks and realtime data for Android.

I think the app will be quite good soon. With intraday realtime data in candlestick form and the basic indicators, like stochastics, volume, RSI, Moving Averages, etc.. plus the ability to trade right from the phone.. that's pretty dang cool.

I'd also like to see them add price alerts- so my phone will start beeping if price crosses a threshold.. NICE
