Eris battery life?

I have had my Eris for several days now. My battery is only lasting about 8-9 hours with less than 15-30 min talk time. I don't have any apps running, wi-fi and GPS is turned off.

Is everyone else getting such bad results? I though my Blackberry was bad only lasting 24-36 hours. haha

Well, I just bought HTC Tattoo, which is I guess similar, I have the same problem.

Look I didnt use wifi called once for like 7 minutes, texted one sms and checked facebook once.

Wifi, GPS and EDGE OFF. battery was enough for less than a day. WTH? Can someone explain?

Did you install "Spare Parts" from the market and look at the top running app under "Partial Wake Usage"? Android System should be on top unless you listen to mp3 24/7!

Also, look in Settings --> About --> Status.. scroll to the bottom and look at your awake time.. it should be a small percentage compared to the "up" time. If you lock your screen, the "awake" timer should stop within 1-3 seconds... if you keep your phone locked for say a minute, your awake counter should only show a few seconds at most.

So mine Awake time/up time ratio is 92%. (I promise, I didn't touch it while I was asleep and it was locked all that time :) )

What can I do to troubleshoot?
