Alright, I rooted my phone and am running CyanogenMod 4.2.3.1 (great mod!).
(1) I want to make a NANDroid backup, but don't know how. I've been using this site http://code.google.com/p/android-roms/wiki/NANDROID_Backup to look at, but the first step it has is to use one of JF's mods, and I don't want to switch...
(2) Also, how do I partition my SD card so that I can utilize my phone's memory better?
(3) How does tethering work? It sounds like a fantastic idea, but I don't know where to begin with it. Do you just plug in the USB cord and voila? (I haven't tried this yet because I don't want to screw something up.
(4) Is there a link to get Android 2.0 for my phone, and is there a mod that is stable for it yet?
(5) How do I put the new Google Navigation Beta on my G1?
Any help is greatly appreciated! I'm a by-the-book person, so instructions help a ton! Also, I think if someone has the same questions, it'll help! Thanks again!

seems to be down right now but go to:
wiki.cyanogenmod.com
you need to upgrade your bootloader. once you do there is a NANDROID option when you boot into recovery mode. it's all in the wiki from what i recall.

So I just saw that Cyanogen came out with a new Mod (4.2.4). I have 4.2.3.1. How do I upgrade? Links that give SPECIFIC instructions are great (if you know of any).

it's just like you put on 2.3.1
put the zip for 2.4 on your sdcard. restart in recovery. flash. reboot. done

So can you help with my other questions? :) That's for you!
if you boot into recovery , if you installed cyans recovery , there is an option for a nandroid backup and a nandroid restore .

Alright, I don't know what I did wrong...I went to the link, downloaded the .img, dropped it on the SD card. That part I'm good with. This "terminal" you refer to... Tom Hanks? I speak English, and I struggle with it most of the time... Dumbman is something I also speak. Gimme a wrench and I'm good. Coding, not so much, but I'd really like to learn!

I downloaded the Android SDK, even went to an "ADB for dummies" website http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=502010 . When I try to unzip the file, I get errors, which is odd. Maybe a different link? Help?

Did I say thank you yet? If not, thank you! Also, if I have an 8GB microSD card, how big should I partition it? I know not to go over 1.5 GB on the one, but is that much really necessary or should I go smaller?

I know that simms sent me a link on how to partition an SD card, but can someone kind of dumb it down for me? I know I'll lose everything and will probably have to start over, but is it worth it? And can someone walk me through the process?

if you install amon ras recovery , all you have to do is press a button . it doesnt get much easier than that(unless i go over there and do it for you, then thats easier ;) )
