g1 no longer mounts as usb drive after Win7 upgrade

It's all in the title, basically.

I upgraded my laptop's Windows partition to 7 and now my G1 won't mount as a USB drive.

I can still tether fine and it's drawing juice but if i toggle off tethering I no longer have any option to mount it.

Have tried search AC and googling without much luck. Anyone else worked around this problem?

do you have all of the latest Bug fixes and patches downloaded for 7?
have you tried it on other computers?

yes and yes (not other win7 computers tho)

SOLVED:

bizarrely, i gave up trying to get it to work and so re-downloaded cyan 4.2.4 on my vista workstation, copied to phone from there, installed fine, and afterwards was able to mount on my win7 laptop. go figure.

Yea i was gonna suggest that next..weird that happened to me earlier today but im on XP
